DESIGN CONCEPT • a few years ago I was really into Korean pop music, specifically this one girl group called "TWICE." I always bought their recent albums at the time and always loved the packaging design as well as the ephemera that came inside of each album—such as photobooks, postcards, stickers, and more. I wanted to draw inspiration from this past interest to complete this project, using K-pop as my topic. The albums here are some of my favorites that I own!
FINAL OUTCOME • for my final spread, I used photos from Nayeon's official NA photoshoot. I selected colors directly from the photos to use in the typography, creating a cohesive visual harmony between the text and imagery. I knew I wanted the photos to serve as a strong visual element, so I designed the layout and grid system to highlight and complement the visuals.
CONSTRUCTION • cover designed using Adobe Photoshop and spreads were typeset using Adobe InDesign. The typefaces used on the cover were Asap Condensed, New Kansas, and Peridot PE Variable. Typefaces used within the spread were Benton Modern D, Nitti Typewriter, (headings) and Gamay (subheadings & body copy). All typefaces were sourced using Adobe Fonts. Photos within the spreads were sourced through the TWICE Official Website Photo Gallery.
* majority of the text in the project was generated using AI as permitted by the project brief, as the design process was the main aspect, not the content of the article.
